    Sian Ka’an

Located near the small city of Tulum, Sián Ka’an was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, being the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean.

His name means «Gate of Heaven» and the Mayans were not wrong to call it that.

The surface it occupies is at least 528,147 hectares, covering part of Tulum and Carrillo Puerto. It prevents the formation of surface water currents favoring the birth of wells called cenotes, this thanks to the surface constituted by limestone.

One of the ecosystems that most stand out in the wetlands of Sián Ká’an is the so-called Peten, with masses of trees that reach up to 30 m in height and rise from the grass of the marshes.

There have been certain discoveries of ceramics, materials and various human burials, some 2,300 years old.

Nowadays it is one of the most paradisiacal places, with its natural and exceptional beauty, unparalleled for lovers of magnificent nature.

Sián Ka’an is ideal for those who seek and, above all, love nature

    Punta Allen

Punta Allen is located on a small peninsula within the Sián Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. It is kept as natural as possible, without damaging the flora and fauna of the Biosphere.

Punta Allen marks the northern limit of the mouth of the Bay of Ascension where a lighthouse is located. It is located approximately 50 km south of Tulum. It is considered nowadays as the southern end of the Riviera Maya, previously it was considered only Tulum; However, it does not go unnoticed since tourism has continued to manifest, while this focuses on ecological and adventure visits.

Punta Allen is considered an ideal place for rest, the practice of certain water sports such as kayác and boat rides, and especially the contact with nature, because it is a pure place. We live the experience of living and sharing the natural habitat of such unique species, observe turtles, dolphins, manta rays and birds in their natural habitat.

Punta Allen is the best option especially for backpackers, young travelers and adventurers, due to the environment that is, ideal to organize night walks, moonings in small corners of the town, and the beautiful stars that appear little by little until covering the sky and its transparency; considering that this small town has limited electricity and that it has a light plant.

There are few places that are as favorable for ecotourism as Punta Allen is, and this is another reason why you want to discover and travel to this beautiful corner of Quintana Roo.
