TOURS RIVIERA MAYA
Swim with Whale Shark
The whale shark is undoubtedly the largest animal in the world. It measures approximately 12 m in length and normally inhabits warm tropical and subtropical waters. It is said that this incredible animal inhabits the earth for 60 million years.
Some of these magnificent creatures have been seen in colder waters than they usually do, which are usually oceans and warm seas close to the tropics. They have certain migration seasons with large distances to coastal areas, such as Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Utila in Honduras, Donsol and Batangas in the Philippines, and of course Isla de Holbox in the state of Quintana Roo.
The skin of the whale shark can reach 10 cm in thickness. His head is wide and flattened and to the sides his small eyes are located; behind these are spiracles. Its large mouth can reach 1.5 m in width, thus having a sufficient capacity to house a seal swimming sideways.
Between the months of May and September have been observed in the northeast of the Yucatan peninsula at least 800 copies in a site rich in plankton. These beings return after 6 years to the same place.
It is totally harmless, so you will have the opportunity to swim by your side, living a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
