Tulum

Tulum or Tuluum was a walled city of the cultura maya located in the state of Quintana Roo, southeast México, on the coast caribean sea. It is currently a great tourist attraction of the Riviera Maya and next to it is the modern town of the same name, Tulum. The Mayan city is within the Parque nacional Tulum. The archaeological site of Tulum is located on the eastern coast of the state of Quintana Roo, in the region known as the Riviera Maya.

Coba

Cobá is an archaeological site of the cultura maya precolombina, localizado en el sureste de México, in the territory that today is the state ofen Quintana Roo, about ninety kilometers east of Chichén Itzá and about forty northwest of Tulum The possible meaning of Cobá could be cob, ‘what has humidity’, or moss and á, o , ‘water’, to saye ‘water with moss’, or ‘water humidity’. Another possibility that is not ruled out is that it means ‘cloudy water’, due to the proximity to small lakes with a very cloudy color.
